Did you have any nicknames growing up? Maybe your parents had a special name for you, or maybe your friends call you something besides your first name. In 1 John, the Lord calls you His child. What a privilege to be loved and called a child of God! He also gives us power to act on this calling through His Word and through Baptism. In love, God calls you by name, provides you with His power and sends you into the world as His disciple to call and love others.
