JOURNALING
Ask adults to journal about a particular topic that
relates to a Bible study, a fear, something they are
thankful for, or the like. It could be in paragraphs, bullet
points, or even simply "I feel" statements. Journaling
is an important tool that allows adults to organize and
share their thoughts. It can also be a useful device for
releasing emotional or mental tension. Ask a few adults
to share what they've written with the group.
THINK, PAIR, AND SHARE
During a small-group meeting or in a Sunday-morning
Bible class, ask adults a question related to the subject
of the study. Challenge your group members to think
about the question from a variety of perspectives, tak-
ing into consideration what they already know or have
learned from experience. Next, have each adult pair up
with a partner. Allow ten to twenty minutes for the pairs
to talk about their answers. Finally, bring everyone
back together to share answers among a larger group.
ROUND ROBIN DISCUSSION
Decide upon a topic that you want adults to discuss.
Set up three to five tables with different questions on
each. Have adults divide into small groups and start
each group at a different table. Give groups ten or
fifteen minutes to discuss the questions at their table.
Move on to the next table and so on until each group
has visited each table and discussed all the questions.
Once completed, take turns having each group present
their reflections.
