WHO IS GOD? Adults understand that God never changes. Adults know that He is a loving, caring, forgiving, and omnipresent Father. Adults should be able to minister to their kids, friends, and peers by sharing how God's greatest work was sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross and rise again from the dead three days later to save the world from sin. Faith Questions WHERE IS GOD? HOW DO I INTERACT WITH HIM? Adults grasp that sometimes it's difficult to understand God's plan during trials and tough seasons. However, adults know they can freely seek Him through personal prayer, medi- tation, and devotions on His Word, where He promises to always be with us. Adults know that God is actively present during Baptism and Holy Communion—tangible Means of Grace, which they witness and receive at church. WHAT HAS GOD DONE FOR US? Adults recognize that through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God has saved every one of us from sin and death. This truth also has a profoundly personal impact: as believers saved through the gift of faith, adults respond by sharing this Good News with everyone they meet, everywhere they go. HOW DOES GOD WORK THROUGH THE CHURCH? Adults see God working through their church as they read and study His Word. They feel God's presence as they worship Him with other believers or in personal prayer time. Adults see God at work through elders and ministry leaders who teach Bible studies. Adults can recognize God's work through the church's service to others as well. WHO AM I? WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR? Adults should be able to comprehend that having a Lutheran Christian identity is unique. They understand that they are sinners in need of God's forgiveness and grace. Adults can identify as saints who will one day be reunited with Christ in heaven. They are equipped with talents to help their neighbors anywhere they interact with people. HOW DOES GOD WORK THROUGH PEOPLE? Adults can observe God's work through people and their vocations. Adults understand God's work in the home through parents who teach their children the Gospel, or in the workplace through managers who lead with empathy and compassion. Adults should be able to recognize God's work through pastors who share His Word and Sacraments with parishioners, mis- sionaries who spread the Gospel, and fellow believers who witness in their daily lives.
