WHO IS GOD? Because doubt and ques- tions are important in this life stage, we can affirm the struggle of young adults and continue to point them back to God where He reveals Him- self—in Scripture. Reinforcing trust in God's attributes through our own faith stories and experiences will bring a valued sense of community to the developmental process. Faith Questions WHERE IS GOD? HOW DO I INTERACT WITH HIM? As young adults grow and change, they have the op- portunity to build on their relationship with God through prayer, study, service, worship, and time spent in a faith com- munity. Churches and Christian outreach programs that provide community and meaningful service opportunities can pro- vide tools that help young adults figure out meaningful ways to interact with the world. WHAT HAS GOD DONE FOR US? Young adults recognize the saving work of Christ on the cross. They know they are redeemed by Christ but may only now realize the impact of grace, freely given. Young adults need to be reminded of the unique gifts God gives them and how He works in and through them. HOW DOES GOD WORK THROUGH THE CHURCH? Young adults can explore leadership opportunities in teaching and serving their faith com- munity. Recent research strongly in- dicates a correlation between young adult leadership within churches and faith communities and their sense of involvement and ownership, providing growth opportunities within churches and significant ministry opportunities in the world. WHO AM I? WHO IS MY NEIGHBOR? Young adults have a broader sense of com- munity than older generations. They might not perceive the person living in the apartment next to them as a neighbor but instead could list mem- bers of their online community in that category. HOW DOES GOD WORK THROUGH PEOPLE? God's gifts shared among His people allow young adults to discover their innate value as children of God. Through time together and shared experiences, people of all life stages can see God working through them as He accomplishes His ministry in the world. The church can provide the kind of real, hon- est, genuine community that our culture often discounts in favor of filtered or photoshopped snippets. In being part of real community, all of us benefit from God working mightily through His Church. "They know they are redeemed by Christ but may only now realize the impact of grace, freely given."
