Activities
MENTOR PROGRAM
Connect each teenager in your program with a trusted
faith mentor. Train the mentor to build healthy relation-
ships with the teen and the teen's parents. This will
give students a safe place to ask and wrestle with big
questions they might have.
TRUTH CARDS
Give teenagers five to ten plain index cards. Ask them
to write one doubt they have about life, God, or them-
selves on each card. Research Bible verses that speak
God's truths to each doubt. Teens can add verses to
the cards and decorate to hang in a bedroom, locker, or
other spot as a reminder of God's love and faithfulness.
SPIRITUAL GIFTS DISCOVERY
Identify the gifts, areas of interest, and individual styles
of teenagers. Research how Scripture has shown these
or similar things being used to glorify God. List areas
where each can be used at home, school, or church.
Provide opportunities for teens to put their gifts into
action. Evaluate with teens after such opportunities,
and encourage them to do it again. Reevaluate period-
ically.
MISSION TRIP
Provide an opportunity for a group of teenagers to step
outside of their everyday lives and experience peo-
ple in a new setting. Put the Word of God into action
by serving the poor, the widowed, and the orphaned.
Make sure to encourage discussion about how God is
working through the teenagers' actions and any ques-
tions that arise.
