WHO IS GOD?
Teens know that God is a
loving Creator, Counselor,
and Savior. He is faithful
and gives them eternal
life through Jesus' death and
resurrection. He is unchanging in
His pursuit of them.
Faith Questions
WHERE IS GOD? HOW DO I
INTERACT WITH HIM?
God promises to be with teens
always. Even when they doubt,
He holds true to His promises. In Baptism,
He gave the Holy Spirit that lives inside of
them; and in Holy Communion, He physi-
cally meets teens in their sin and forgives
them through His own body and blood.
He invites teens to talk to Him and hear
from Him. High schoolers can be fully
honest in their prayers to Him; and when
they read Scripture, He speaks to them.
WHAT HAS GOD DONE FOR US?
High schoolers realize that God offered Himself
to take their punishment for sin, bringing them
back into a relationship with Him. Jesus came to earth, lived,
suffered, died, and rose from the dead to bear all sins for
all people. Their sin and brokenness is covered by Christ so
that, ultimately, teenagers will someday spend eternity with
Him in heaven.
HOW DOES GOD WORK
THROUGH THE CHURCH?
The Church was given to
everyone, including teens,
by God. He enables His Word to be
proclaimed there. He provides oppor-
tunities for teens to worship Him. God
also provides leaders that use their
gifts to help teens study the Word. Fi-
nally, God serves His people through
the pastors, teachers, and volunteers
at church and by meeting needs that
teens may have through them.
WHO AM I? WHO IS MY
NEIGHBOR?
Teens know that they are
uniquely created by God
and are loved by Him. Because of sin,
teens are broken and separated from
Him. Through remembrance of their
Baptism, teens know they are children
of God and sin no longer separates
them from Him. Teens know their
unique abilities, personalities, and
experiences become ways God can
show others that He loves them too.
HOW DOES GOD WORK THROUGH PEOPLE?
God works through teenagers in every vocation
that they have, whether it is at home, school,
church, or in the world. Teens get to love and
serve the people around them using the gifts, abilities, and
interests that God gives them. Examples of this might be a
high schooler mentoring middle school students or welcom-
ing people as they come into church on Sunday.
"High school students
are asking questions,
solidifying their own moral
codes, and defining their
place in the world."
