As you page through the Intro- duction, the Six Chief Parts, and the Appendix, see if you can find key words to fill in the letters of the alphabet, A to Z! Checks for Understanding Before your learners leave, consider ways you can give them feedback for next week. • Exit Ticket: Have students write down a response to the question, What is the Small Catechism? • Quiz Questions: Have each student write one question for a class quiz on today's lesson. Remind them that they may have to answer their own question, so they shouldn't get carried away writing very difficult ques- tions. Shuffle and redistribute the questions at the beginning of the next lesson to use as a review. The bonus material for Lesson 3 might also be a good activity to use here. Have the class work togeth- er as you read each of the Six Chief Parts and discuss what each part teaches us about our life with God. The "Connections" activity for this lesson is intended to give the students a chance to look through the entire catechism and become more familiar with it. Divide students into groups and let them work together to try to find words for as many letters of the alphabet as they are able. Encourage them to look for key words, like "Apostles' Creed," instead of common words like "and." See who can fill in the whole alphabet!
