Important Jobs
I
t was a busy day. Mom
promised to take a collection
of food to the church. Families
who didn't have much money
often came to Grant's church for
help. Grant watched Mom go to
the door with a bag. That's an
important job, thought Grant, I
can help do that. He picked up a
bag. It was very heavy, and the
handle broke! A can of carrots
rolled away.
"Grant," called Mom, "please
help Avery find her hat. It's cold
out today." Grant put the can back
in the bag and ran to help.
"Here it is!" Grant called
out. "It's hiding under our
magazines." Avery put the hat on.
"Let's go!" said Mom.
