4 Track 1 cph.org/newmusic Choral Advent SATB, PI This is a laidback recasting of a portion of the hymn "Prepare the Royal Highway" with a new melody. The lilting melody and harmonically rich accompaniment is tuneful and memorable. The text highlights the coming of King Jesus and works perfectly for Advent and Palm Sunday. This piece is available in several voicing options: SATB, SA, and TBB. SATB, VI, Opt. PI A melodic and tender anthem written for SATB voices and violin or C instrument. Appropriate for evening services, End Times, or Advent, the text focuses on Christ and His Word, the true light and guide in the darkness. The C-instrument part quotes the hymn tune consolation, making this setting especially appropriate for evening midweek Advent services. An optional keyboard part is provided. SATB, OR or PI David McCarthy's setting of "Once He Came in Blessing" is written in the style of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" as an homage to J. S. Bach (1685–1750). This delightful one-stanza setting is scored for SATB and organ or piano and may function as a stand- alone piece or as a choral stanza during the singing of the hymn. SATB, PI David von Kampen has set this anthem for End Times or Advent for SATB choir and piano. It begins with unison choir on the first refrain and moves to SATB in the first verse. The piece closes with a quiet unison phrase. This is sure to become a choir favorite!
