About This Issue's Authors Dr. R. Reed Lessing serves as Professor of Theology and Ministry at Concordia Univer- sity, St. Paul. Previously he was Senior Pastor at Saint Michael Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, Indiana, and before that, Pro- fessor of Exegetical Theology and Director of the Graduate School at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and received a BA in pre-seminary studies from St. John's College, Winfield, Kansas, in 1981. He earned his MDiv (1985), STM. (1989), and PhD (2001) degrees from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He was ordained into the office of the holy ministry on June 29, 1986. From 1986 to 1999, he served pastorates in West Monroe, Louisiana, and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Kristian Kincaid has served as a parish pastor for over thirty years, shep- herding the flock for the last twenty-seven years at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dubuque, Iowa. He also serves St. Matthew in Sher- rill, Iowa. He is blessed to be a husband and father, and to lovingly point families and flock to Christ, the Lamb once slain but who forever lives. Christopher M. Kennedy is an author, blogger, podcaster, and pastor. He serves a large congregation in San Antonio, Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree in communication, a master's degree in theology, and a doctorate in ministry. He and his wife are parents of four. Dr. Timothy E. Saleska is the Gustav and Sophie Butterbach Professor of Exegetical Theology at Con- cordia Seminary, St. Louis. He also serves as professor of exegetical theology and dean of ministerial forma- tion. Saleska is the author of the first volume of commen- tary on the Psalms, Psalms 1–50, in the Concordia Com- mentary series (Concordia Publishing House, 2020). He is also the author of the Bible study God's Abiding Word: Psalms (Concordia Publishing House, 2002). Amy Bird is a writer and editor serving as the primary author of Lutheran Life and as a contributing author for various devotional resources. She studied communication and theology at Concordia University Wisconsin, and holds an MA in systematic theology from Concordia Seminary. 22 Lutheran Life
