WE ARE
HIS VOICE
We should be overjoyed that God is the one
who does the act of converting and not us.
God uses His own Word to convert. We are
merely the speakers. When we speak that
Word as Law and Gospel, we will never go
wrong. I know that sounds like a bold state-
ment, but I will say it again—when we rightly
speak God's Law and Gospel, we will never go
wrong. I can say this for one simple reason:
we will never go wrong because God will nev-
er go wrong. God will always work what He
wants to work through His Word. The prophet
Isaiah had a lot of good things to say about
God working through His Word. Through Isa-
iah, God said:
So shall My word be that goes out
from My mouth; it shall not return to
Me empty, but it shall accomplish that
which I purpose, and shall succeed in
the thing for which I sent it.
(Isaiah 55:11)
