Lutheran Life 11 The Bible is rich in vivid language that conveys the Good News to the heart. We do have something to say about Jesus, something very specific that everyone needs to hear. Essentially, Christian witness is expressing in our own words and way what Jesus has done for us, what He means to us, and why we want to recommend Him to others. Our witness does not have to be fancy or even fluent, just a clear and sincere sharing of what is in our heart about the One who loved us and gave Himself for us. As you reflect on how to share Jesus in a specific way to someone else, take a moment to also consider what Jesus means to you. What's the reason for the hope that is within you? Jot down some ideas. Don't worry about perfect sen- tences or articulate thoughts. Just write honestly from the heart. Want to take it one step further? Ask fellow believers how they'd answer the question "What does Jesus mean to you?" Start a discussion around your dinner table or at your next Bible study. Get comfortable having these kinds of conversations with other Christians. Starting with Christian friends or family is a great way to prac- tice and prepare for opportunities to share with those who don't know Jesus. Just like anything, the more you practice, the more comfortable and proficient you'll be- come. w How to Share Christ Confidently By Milton Rudnick, copyright © 2009 Concordia Publishing House.
